September 1st Update
The 2010 Reunion is now only 18 days away!
The 'Buy Tickets' page of the website has been working flawlessy and we have been receiving ticket orders on the site and through the mail daily. As a remnder, we must finalize our guest count for the caterer on September 13th, so please place your ticket orders by then. We are preparing name badges as the orders are received; they will be waiting for you at the door.
Plans are being made for get-togethers at the Friday Night Pub Crawl. We've done some research and found that many restaurants will reserve less than half their seating to make the remainder available for walk-ins; and they are limited in the number of large groups they can accommodate. If you are planning to get together a large group - act now. Woody Melcher will be at Quattro at 7pm, equipped with Seaholm stickers to wear if you would like to make yourselves visible to other classmates.
The sad part of preparing a reunion is adding to the 'In Memoriam' page. As we have searched the internet for contact information we have received many incorrect telephone numbers and addresses from search engines. For this reason we question their correctness when they report a classmate as being deceased. Please contact us if you can verify the status of the following classmates: Gordon Devereaux, Terry Miller, Andy Robinson, and Robert Wright.
Please remember to place a profile on 'The Class Register' page of the website if you have not already done so. This replaces the printed register that we have distributed at prior reunions. If you can not attend the reunion, the next best thing is a 'virtual reunion'. Visit the website to catch up on what classmates are doing and send messages. After the reunion, photographs of the event will be posted on the website.
We look forward to seeing you - very soon!

August 18th Update
The 2010 Reunion is now only a month away!
At present we have 148 guests attending and 24 tickets have been purchased from our newly activated 'Buy Tickets' page on the website.
Now is the time to be contacting the people you want to see and make dates for the Friday Night Pub Crawl. We plan to meet at 7pm at Quattro, next to the Palladium theater, and then fan out across Birmingham for dinners, movies and drinks. We'll meet up again after 10pm at Peabody's for more conversation and light music. Reservations for dinner are recommended. Visit our 'Travelers' page on the website for a listing of Birmingham restaurants including two new ones: Zazio's (Italian) and South (hot and spicy).
The Tour of Seaholm will begin at 11am on Saturday. We'll meet at the gym entrance. If you have not responded for this event, please do, so that we will have a sufficient number of tour guides. The tour should last about an hour.
The Memorial Service will be held Sunday morning at 11am, in the Adams Room of The Community House. All are welcome to attend and to participate.
If you are looking for a place for Sunday Brunch, please consider Forte restaurant next to the Birmingham Theater. It will be one last opportunity for us to gather before departing on our separate ways. We're adding Sunday Brunch to the 'Events' page to make it easy to rsvp. The rsvp is only to let the restaurant know to expect the extra traffic.
We have received many offers of help and for these we are appreciative. The greatest help right now would be to contact those people you most want to see and encouraging them to come to the reunion, ensuring that both you and they will have a terrific time. There are still quite a few 'Missing Classmates' and any help you can give in contacting these people and sending them to the website for information will be greatly appreciated. Also, we ask all of you, whether you are coming to the reunion or not, to leave a profile on the 'Class Register'. It's an excellent way to contact other classmates, and will also be our address book to contact you in the future for our next reunion.

July 18th Update
The 2010 Reunion in Birmingham is now only two months away!
At present we have 119 guests planning to attend.
Recognizing that this is a difficult economic time, we are trying to keep ticket prices low to make the reunion as accessible as possible to all our classmates.
Food and venue expenses have increased greatly but we hope to offset these increases with the following measures:
- Eliminate printing and postage costs by relying on the reunion website and email communication
- Eliminate the expense of live music and DJ by utilizing the Community House sound system
- Offer only hors d'oeuvres served throughout the evening. Quantities will be determined in the final week before the event and dependent on the number of tickets sold
- Offering of Patron tickets for those classmates who would generously wish to contribute more
At present we would need to set ticket prices at $60 per guest. If we could receive 50 more responses by August 1, we believe we could set the price at $50 per guest - the same as it was in 2000! That's our goal.
Watch for an announcement after the first of August when we will to announce final ticket prices and open our Buy Tickets page on the website.
In the meantime, we continue to find more classmates. Many names on the missing list have been contacted by phone, facebook or classmates.com (sometimes all three!) and encouraged to log in their email addresses at the website so that we can be certain they are receiving the reunion updates. Until we hear from them, we will continue to list them as 'missing'.

June 18th Update
It's June 18th and The 2010 Reunion in Birmingham is now only three months away!
Our classmate search began only a month and a half ago. Mary Lamont has established a group page for Seaholm Class of 1970 on Facebook and individually nudged every classmate on Facebook to visit the website for reunion information. Joan Gellatly has been doing the same for Classmates.com. Martha Barnes and Woody Melcher have been contacting people using a 2009 printed third party directory and past reunion information; and the search continues.
Here's a progress report:
For the 2000 Reunion we found a total of 485 out of 705 classmates, with 243 attending the reunion.
Today we have "found" a total of 312, with 56 responding and a total of 65 guests planning to attend.
"Found" is in quotation marks because without a response we can not be certain we have successfully made contact, and as you can see above, there is a large discrepancy between the number found and the number of responses. We thank all of you who have taken the time to respond and share email addresses.
If you have submitted an RSVP and signed in at The Class Register, thank you. If not, please register your email address so that we can count you as "found".
In case you are concerned, your email address is confidential unless you include it as "your website" on your bio in The Class Register. The website allows classmates to communicate with each other without sharing their email address.
Also, if you run into someone and can't remember the website, just tell them to google "Seaholm Class of 70".
We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in September!

Welcome Class of 1970!
This website will be home base for our upcoming 40th reunion in Birmingham. This is our first experience with a website, so please be patient as we learn. In addition we will have a permanent Class of 70 Facebook page for staying connected.
Please use the RSVP page to let us know if you are planning to attend the reunion as this will help us determine the cost per ticket. You can monitor who plans to attend on the Who's Coming page. A future page will allow you to buy your ticket(s) online.
The Class Register is an opportunity for you to share contact information and biographies and will replace the printed booklet created for past reunions.
One very important way you can help us is to visit the Missing Classmates page and provide us with any contact information you may have or be able to find. We will update this page weekly.
We look forward to being together again this fall. Please save the date, and keep returning to the website for new information.
